Driving directions: Birmingham International Airport is situated on the A45 Coventry road, 13km (8 miles) east of Birmingham city centre and close to junction 6 of the M42. There are direct connections from the M1, M5, M6 and M40 motorways. The airport is signposted from the motorways and major roads, and is marked on good road maps.

Transporte:
Public Transport: Rail: Train: Skyrail links the airport directly to Birmingham International Train Station and the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). It runs approximately every two minutes from Terminal 1 and from Birmingham International Train Station (journey time: approximately 1.5 minutes). Birmingham International Train Station is situated on the West Coast Main Line, which has services operated by Central, Virgin and Silverlink trains. It operates a network of fast and frequent regional and intercity rail services; the service to London Euston is half-hourly (journey time: approximately 90 minutes). Road: Taxi: Black cabs (tel: (0)121 782 3744) provide a 24-hour service from the official rank outside the airport passenger terminals. Each taxi carries up to five people with luggage, and is built to take wheelchairs. Bus: Local buses link the airport to the surrounding district and are provided by a number of operators. All buses stop outside the passenger terminals. For bus timetable and cost information, passengers should call Traveline (tel: (0)870 608 2608). Operates long-distance coach services, linking the airport to a number of cities, and also provides inter-airport Flightlink (tel: (0)8705 757 747) coaches. Passengers are advised to book long-distance coach services in advance. Digbeth coach station in Birmingham city centre is a hub of the National Express network, with services to most parts of the UK. Local bus no. 900 Airport Link passes Digbeth coach station.

Airport facilities: Money and communications: Bureaux de change and ATMs are available in both terminals. Cash and credit card telephones are also available throughout the airport. Eating and drinking: There is an extensive range of cafés, restaurants and fast food outlets both airside and landside. Shopping: There are several retail shops at the airport including newsagents, bookshops and grocers, as well as music and video, accessories, electrical, and health and beauty retailers. Luggage: A left luggage facility (tel: (0)121 767 7987), that also offers key holding and baggage delivery services, is available on the first floor in Terminal 1. Assistance with baggage and check-in is available by contacting the Airport Information Desk (tel: (0)870 733 5511) prior to arrival.

Conference and business facilities: Business booths are available in the Terminal 1 Departures lounge with credit card operated telephone, e-mail, modem and fax facilities. Meeting room facilities (tel: (0)121 767 8063) are also available in Terminal 1 with rooms to accommodate between two and 40 people.

Disabled Facilities: All passenger facilities are easily accessible on the ground floor and first floor by using the signposted lifts. Wheelchairs are available on request. Help with baggage and check-in is available by contacting the Airport Information Desk (tel: (0)870 733 5511) prior to arrival. To help the deaf and hard of hearing with telephone information, a MINICOM system (tel: (0)121 767 8084) is installed at the Terminal 1 Airport Information Desk. To amplify announcements for passengers wearing hearing aids, there is an Induction Loop System. Assistance with car parking is available by pressing the ‘Assist’ button situated at the entrance/exit to car parks; visitors should note that parking is charged at the normal commercial rates and that parking outside the terminal buildings, in designated spaces, is restricted to five minutes.
